Our story
I have always had a love for animals. My first word was “dog”, and I begged my parents for years for a dog. My parents got me a cat, but that didn’t satisfy the need for a dog. At 14 I got a beautiful Pomeranian, who we named Peanut. I already loved animals, but this encouraged me to learn more about animals. After school I went and studied animal care and management.
I am truly passionate about animal welfare! I grew up watching “animal cop” shows; seeing all the animals being mistreated made me want to help animals. I believe the services I provide help reduce stress in animals and their owners. Keeping animals in their environment and keeping everything as normal as possible reduces stress, which is part of the Animal Welfare Act. We adhere to the 5 primary welfare needs of every animal in our care.
I had some issues with mental health and confidence, but for years I have been working on it. I did feel that “I missed my chance” to do the work I was passionate about. So I took typical admin jobs.
This all started with me having trouble in typical workplaces. I am a neurodivergent woman, and I've always had trouble fitting in at school and work. I’ve always been a big sister to other neurodivergent people; I want to create a work environment that helps understand and nurture people and their struggles. If I can’t find a place like that, then I will make my own.
I understand that people may have a condition, but that doesn’t mean that everyone with that condition has the same struggles and needs the same help. I want to listen to people, be patient and help them improve, while providing a great service!
